DETAILS/ITINERARY:
Bourbon Distillery Tour
JULY 7
Depart Buffalo for Nashville with your fellow travelers on your included flight. Upon arrival in Nashville travel by deluxe motorcoach to Belle Meade Plantation for lunch, a guided mansion tour, and free time to explore the grounds and gift shops. Conclude your visit in the historic Ice House and learn the art of savoring a bourbon neat. Immerse yourself in the history of whiskey as you sip on a delicious cocktail, while learning to craft a signature beverage with the guidance of expert bourbon stewards. This evening check into your hotel, enjoy a Kickback Reception of food and cocktails before enjoying dinner and free time on your own in Downtown Nashville. (L)
JULY 8
Following breakfast, say farewell to Nashville and depart for Louisville where your first visit is at James B. Beam Distilling Co. for a guided tour, Kentucky-style bourbon tasting and lunch at the Kitchen Table with a signature cocktail included. This afternoon tour Kentucky’s iconic mansion and farm, My Old Kentucky Home, to learn what goes into the making of a proper Kentucky Mint Julep. After some time to settle into your hotel, enjoy dinner at Merles Whiskey Kitchen. (B, L, D)
JULY 9
Start your morning with a visit to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Welcome Center. While here, enjoy The Spirit of Kentucky® exhibition celebrating the history, craft, and culture of Bourbon whiskey - America’s only native spirit. Experience how to make the official cocktail of Louisville in the Craft Your Own Cocktail Experience, presented by Old Forester, at the Frazier History Museum. Led by Certified Bourbon Stewards, this unique experience is for Bourbon beginners and aficionados alike. The team guides you through making a traditional Old Fashioned with your own unique twist while providing some fascinating history about the Old Fashioned. A guided tour of the museum is included as well. Enjoy lunch on your own and free time at Logan Street Market before visiting Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery for a tour and tasting of 7 of Michter’s whiskeys. You’ll return to your hotel for time to rest and freshen up before dinner and a show at Derby Dinner Playhouse this evening. (B, D)
JULY 10
This morning visit Buffalo Trace Distillery for The Trace Tour – an incredible introduction to the history and science of bourbon. You will walk amidst the path of rolling bourbon barrels as you are captivated by the alluring smell and atmosphere of bourbon sleeping inside the aging warehouses. Later this morning take a Spectacle for the Senses Tour and Tasting at Woodford Reserve Distillery. Enjoy the grounds alongside the most interactive tasting. Your experience begins with a walk through history before you enter the Dryer House where you will taste 5 award winning whiskies expertly paired with lite bites. Lunch today is included at a local restaurant before visiting Castle & Key Distillery for a tour and tasting, followed by a Bourbon and Boats bourbon history tour and tasting Kentucky River cruise, and farewell dinner at Bourbon on Main (B, L, D).
JUL 11
Return home to Buffalo today on your included flight from Louisville. (B)
