Since May of 2016, Michael J. Billoni has been Managing Partner of Billoni Associates, which specializes in Communication, Rainmaking, and Publishing.
A graduate of the State University of New York at Morrisville with a degree in journalism, he spent 12 years in the newspaper business as an award-winning reporter and editor for the Tonawanda News and the Buffalo Courier-Express. He currently is a freelance writer for several publications, an author, and a book publisher. His recent publication, a collaboration with James H. Overfield, Ph.D., is The Seasons of Buffalo Baseball 1857-2020, an update and revision of Jim's father, Joseph M. Overfield's 100 Seasons of Buffalo Baseball, published in 1985.
In 1982 he began a 14-year career with the Buffalo Bisons, working with the Rich family on the building of a downtown ballpark and leading the Buffalo franchise to the top drawing team in minor league baseball history, drawing more than 1 million fans for six straight seasons. Upon his retirement from the Bisons in 1996, after recovering from a near-fatal bicycle accident, he was inducted into the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame. He also is a member of the Cardinal O'Hara High School distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.
In 1999, he founded Billoni Associates, and among his early projects, he handled public relations for local heavyweight boxer, Baby Joe Mesi, authored the biography of Robert E. Rich, the founder of Rich Products--Memoirs of an Innovator and he published the memoirs of local business executive Ron Zoeller, All In. He also handles the communications for his family's Colvin Cleaners? Gowns for Prom and Coats for Kids programs.
Someone who has desired to use his God-given talents to give back to his community, he has also spent nearly 15 years in development and public relations for two local non-profit agencies. He works tirelessly on his personal mission to eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness.
He is also extremely active in the Western New York Community serving as Secretary of the Rotary Club of Grand Island and a member of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
He and his wife, Debbie, reside on Grand Island, New York.
