Building VIA’s Next Century Celebration
VIA Visually Impaired Advancement invites the community to celebrate its future headquarters and the public launch of Beyond Barriers, a $9 million comprehensive campaign to expand VIA’s facilities, programs, and impact.
The celebration will take place at VIA’s future headquarters at 170 Cooper Avenue in Tonawanda, offering attendees a firsthand look at the transformation underway and the space that will become VIA’s expanded manufacturing operations.
The new 68,696-square-foot headquarters will significantly increase VIA’s capacity to serve people who are blind or visually impaired throughout Western New York. Expanded facilities will support vision health and wellness services, vision rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, assistive technology, employment training, job placement, and community programs.
The project will also triple VIA’s manufacturing and warehousing space, creating opportunities for new lines of business and up to 25 additional jobs for people who are blind or visually impaired. Renovations are being led by Montante Group and Silvestri Architects, with completion projected for 2027.
